Staff at Birchall Blackburn solicitors’ Morecambe office, will be showing off their vocal range as they look to raise money for St John’s Hospice.
This is the third year running the team from Morecambe have formed a choir to sing to shoppers in the Arndale Mall, Morecambe, with the law firm choosing a different charity or organisation each year to donate the money raised to.
This year the team decided to select St John’s Hospice after the death of one of their colleagues, Malcolm Swaine, who sadly passed away from cancer in the hospice last Christmas, aged 69.
The Birchall Blackburn office, on Victoria Street, will close for an hour as the staff, joined by two of the firm’s directors sing a variety of carols and Christmas songs.
All the money raised from collections will be matched by Birchall Blackburn in a bid to raise as much as possible.
Choir organiser, Mark Cannon, solicitor at Birchall Blackburn said: “We chose St John’s Hospice as our charity this year as we wanted to thank the team there for all the care they gave to Malcolm. We will be singing in his memory.
“The reception we get when we are out in the Arndale Mall is fantastic, people are very generous with their donations, and we’re hoping we can beat last year’s total of £300.”
The choir will be performing from 12noon in the Arndale Mall. Collection buckets will be available.
