Residential Conveyancers

The role:

  • Management of own high volume caseload and working under own initiative with minimal supervision and with use of our case management system
  • Maintain and build relationships with clients and referrers
  • Management of support staff within the department/team and delegation of work accordingly
  • Commitment to offering their clients a high standard of service and high quality legal advice
  • Maintain high standards in the progressing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care
  • Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account
  • Maintain good professional working relationships with external insititutions and organisations
  • Adhere to and to promote compliance with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Conveyancing Protocol, the firm’s policies, practices and procedures; legislation applicable to the profession and to any relevant quality standards
  • Through training and other means, to keep fully up to date with relevant legislation and practice

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience managing own high volume residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion and registration
  • Experience of sales, purchases, freehold, leasehold, remortgage, new build, unregistered and shared ownership
  • Proven billing track record and achievement of set targets
  • Commitment to an active engagement in business development
  • Excellent knowledge of residential property
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience in the use of a case management system
  • Management of support and other staff
  • Solicitor/CLC/ILEX or equivalent (or working towards)

Residential Conveyancing Assistants

The role:

  • Working alongside a Residential Conveyancer to support their varied caseload from instruction through to completion and registration including:
    • Opening and closing files and completing relevant searches
    • drafting sales contracts
    • liasing with clients
    • setting up completions and managing post completion matters
    • requesting redemption statements
  • Commitment to offering their clients a high standard of service
  • Maintain high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months experience assisting a fee earner with a high volume residential conveyancing caseload from instruction though to completion and registration
  • Experience of dealing with conveyancing clients and estate agents
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, planning own workload in order to meet business requirements

Desirable:

  • Experience in the use of a case management system

Residential Administration Assistants

The role:

  • Provide administration support for the residential conveyancing team
  • Main responsibilities will include opening and closing files, updating case management systems, responding to general correspondence, photocopying, filing, post completion matters and answering the telephone

Requirements:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent customer service skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in an office and/or legal environment
  • Experience in the use of a case management system
