Conveyancing quality scheme reassures homeowners

conveyancing qualityQuality scheme reassures homeowners of better service from conveyancers

Our conveyancing team were pleased to learn that Nationwide has decided to make Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditation mandatory for its panel of solicitors.

Birchall Blackburn Law is one of a selection of law firms on Nationwide’s panel and has been CQS accredited for some time. This means clients can rely on a higher level of service when buying a house or selling property because we have committed to the strict protocols required to achieve the accreditation.

James Boyd, Chief Executive of Conveyancing at Birchall Blackburn Law, explained what CQS means for you:

“Simply put, CQS accreditation ensures an exceptionally high standard of service. We welcome this initiative from Nationwide as the CQS quality standard sets a benchmark for conveyancing and helps fight fraud.

As a consumer, CQS is an important stamp-of-approval to look for, when choosing a conveyancer to help buy or sell your home.”

Nationwide’s Andrew Baddeley-Chappell said:

“We see CQS as best practice and a valuable indication of a firms’ commitment to providing a quality service to their clients. This is why we have decided to introduce this requirement for our panel members later this year.”

What is CQS?

The Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) is a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices like ours. Achieving CQS accreditation establishes a level of credibility for member firms.

Among other things, CQS accreditation is awarded after assessing three main areas:

• The integrity of the senior officer and key conveyancing staff
• The firm’s adherence to good practice management standards
• Adherence to prudent and efficient conveyancing procedures through the CQS protocol

As a client of Birchall Blackburn Law, you can rest assured that our conveyancing team follow strict CQS Protocol and adhere to Core Practice Management Standards. The scheme has created a trusted community, which Nationwide’s move will now help to broaden.

If you’re buying or selling property in 2015, talk to our expert conveyancing team, who work to CQS standards. You can rely on their advice and support every step of the way. For many people, buying or selling a home is their biggest investment, so choosing the right team is key.
