Personal Injury – (Industrial Disease & Catastrophic Injury) Manchester
I joined Birchall Blackburn in 2010 and having gained experience in industrial disease cases, particularly asbestos related cases involving mesothelioma and lung cancer, I am now part of the team specialising in catastrophic injury cases, dealing with brain and spinal injury, amputation and reconstructive surgery cases.
Qualifications and professional achievements: BA (Hons), commendation in Graduate Diploma in Law, distinction in Legal Practice Course. Kelly is a member of APIL ( Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and has undergone Headway brain injury training, LLM in Legal Practice (with distinction).
How did you end up working for a law firm? After undertaking various voluntary legal work placements, I decided that a career of helping others strongly appealed to my personality. I enjoy fighting for the rights of others and have a natural inclination to help, so law was the right ‘home’ for me.
Unusual fact: I designed the electronic system for use in a toy designed to aid learning for autistic children.
