Jennifer McGowan, from Southport, has completed her training contract with the firm – which has seven offices across the North West – and will take a permanent role in its commercial property team.
The 27-year-old decided on a career in law after studying the subject as an A Level student at Formby High School. She went on to complete a degree in law at Liverpool John Moores University and subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the same university.
Jennifer, originally from Formby, joined Birchall Blackburn Law in 2013 as a conveyancing assistant in the property team. She then began her training contract in March 2015.
Over that time, Jennifer has worked in various departments within the firm, including regulation and compliance, commercial property and family.
She said: “I knew from my A Levels that I wanted to pursue a career in law. After university, I worked for a local firm specialising predominantly in residential conveyancing and then went on to join Birchall Blackburn Law – it has a wide range of departments which I wanted to experience to help me make a decision on which was the right direction for me.
“I earned a rotational training contract and I’m thrilled to have completed that and be offered a permanent position in commercial property – it’s the area of law I thoroughly enjoy. I am determined to progress my career at the firm and I’m very proud to be a permanent member of the team.”
Tony Coates, Partner at Birchall Blackburn Law and the Head of the Commercial Property Department, said: “Jennifer has worked very hard to gain her qualifications and we’re proud of her achievements. She has a bright future ahead of her and we look forward to her continuing to offer our clients the extremely high levels of service that they have come to expect of her.
“As a firm we are committed to developing our people from the moment they join our firm, throughout the course of their training and development and for the duration of their career.”
