This Friday, 4th July 2014, BBLaw’s Helen Bradley, the Industrial Disease team and I will be attending the Action Mesothelioma Day.
At 12.30pm there will be a release of sponsored doves outside Manchester Town Hall in Albert Square, followed by a public meeting at 1pm where Lord Alton will be speaking on mesothelioma research.
Lord Alton has been a strong advocate for mesothelioma sufferers for a number of years. He was instrumental in insuring that mesothelioma sufferers were exempt from changes to reforms that would have seen their compensation slashed. Lord Alton is now leading the fight in the House of Lords to secure increased funding from the insurance industry for Mesothelioma Research.
I have been very fortunate to meet Lord Alton and discuss with him the work he has done in parliament to fight for justice for victims of asbestos related diseases.
All are welcome to join this very moving event in remembrance of all those who have lost their lives to mesothelioma.
