Two pupils have been commended for their work experience placement at Birchall Blackburn Solicitors, Preston.
Fourth year pupils, Oscar Feeney and Emily Dyer, both from Fulwood, secured themselves two weeks work experience at the law firm based on Avenham Street.
Partners at Birchall Blackburn were so impressed with the pupils’ work ethic, that they presented the pair with a commendation letter and high street retail vouchers.
The pupils’ work experience consisted of administrative tasks, observing the day-to-day work of the solicitors in the firm and mentoring from key partners.
The two youngsters, who attend Our Lady’s Catholic High School, went through an interview process before being offered the placement which included training in a solicitor’s duties of confidentiality.
Moira Boyce, staff, charity and community partner at Birchall Blackburn said: “We have been really impressed with the pupils’ energy and enthusiasm to pursue a career in law.
“We’ve received wonderful feedback from all the team here at the Preston office and we hope Oscar and Emily continue to learn the skills required to progress in the legal sector. They are a real credit to the school.”
Birchall Blackburn is committed to providing support to those in the local community who would like to embark on a career in law.
