On 1 May 2008 the business of Birchall Blackburn Law became an LLP. This is an exciting change for the Partners and is viewed as a progressive step that secures the successful future of the firm.
The LLP business model is increasingly adopted by professional organisations across the UK and allows the firm to effectively meet the challenges faced in the current climate and enhances the opportunities for future development.
Clients are unlikely to notice any change to the way in which the firm operates and there will be no disruption to services.
Most of the current partners have become Members of the LLP, although Denison Robbins and John Didsbury have taken the opportunity to retire from the partnership after many years loyal service, which is greatly appreciated. They both remain with the firm as Consultants.
The partners also feel that the time is right to end the distinction between Paul Watson & Co and Birchall Blackburn Law and the firm’s office in Southport will now trade under the group name. “We were always conscious of the strong reputation built up by Paul Watson & Co, but clients have become increasingly aware of the Birchall Blackburn Law brand and we hope that this move will help all staff to feel that they are an integral part of the wider organisation”, commented Paul Pickering.
