Family – Leyland
I started at Birchall Blackburn Law in 2019, after five years’ experience working as a solicitor in the North West, predominantly training in family law. I qualified as a solicitor back in 2014 and have since built up extensive experience in matters such as divorce, children disputes, financial disputes, cohabitation agreements, pre-nuptial agreements and more. I have a particular interest in financial matters and the division of assets on divorce.
Qualifications and professional achievements: LLB (Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma, Legal Practice (Distinction) from the University of Central Lancashire. Lancashire Law School prize for outstanding performance, Backhouse Jones prize for outstanding performance in business law and practice.
How did you end up working for a law firm? I always enjoyed the analytic approach which comes with applying the relevant law to the facts of the case and for this reason I chose to undertake my degree in law and commence a career as a solicitor. I take pride in offering the right support and guidance for my clients with regards to any family matters they are currently going through. I feel a great sense of satisfaction from helping people through what is often one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Unusual fact: When I’m not at work I can usually be found in the gym and have a passion for weightlifting.
