More food glorious food

Cooking and baking is a great way to shake off the day’s worries and this month you have been cooking up an absolute storm.

Let us dive right in with Esther Thompson’s new Sunday tradition. Esther, from our Litigation Team in Preston, introduced a lockdown ritual of a rather delightful afternoon tea on a Sunday. She says: “We spend the morning baking and then enjoy our hard work in the afternoon.”

Well, that sounds perfectly reasonable and just look at the delectable treats. Gingerbread cupcakes, rice crispy chocolate squares, summer fruit loaf and mini lemon cheesecakes! A super Sunday cake selection.

Julie Lee from our Healthcare & Clinical Risk Team in Preston has gone traditional too with baked scones and some little butterfly buns. The ones in the photographs below were for her son-in-law’s birthday. In between all that she also repainted the garage door!

Charlotte Thornborrow from our Leyland office baked cake balls for a birthday, whipped-up a nutella banana bread, and created a dreamy chocolate and strawberry cake! And one of here regular meals is a mouth watering chicken, leek and bacon pie topped with garlic and feta cheesy mash. Oh my!

And raise your gardening hat to Carole Richards, from our Family Team in Preston! Carole and her family have been growing fruit and vegetables in their garden and they look fabulous. They’ve got lettuce, mangetout, peas, carrots, potatoes, strawberries, raspberries and even yellow raspberries. What a harvest!
