A Southport-based law firm has bolstered its Wills and probate expertise with the appointment of Eve Austin.
Eve, from Birkdale, joins the private client team at Birchall Blackburn Law, which is based at Cambridge Road, as a solicitor after 20 years in the industry.
Eve qualified as a solicitor in 2005 after attaining a degree in law from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). She has gained experience at a range of law firms across the North West including Napthens Solicitors, Paul Watson & Co and Hodge Halsall, where she completed her training contract.
She specialises in all aspects of Wills and probate-related issues including estate planning, lifetime discretionary trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Eve is also an expert in elderly client services and is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly. In her spare time she provides voluntary support for the Alzheimer’s Society, including its ‘Singing for the Brain’ initiative. She is also a Dementia Champion as part of the national Dementia Friends campaign.
“Ensuring you have planned for the future or life after you have gone is not always easy for those who don’t have the capacity to make key decisions.
“Birchall Blackburn Law works closely with older clients and their families to advise on a host of often complex areas of law such as Wills, lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection. This caring approach was a real attraction to me and I hope to help strengthen our service further.”
Partner at Birchall Blackburn Law, Cathy MacCracken, said:
“There’s been huge emphasis in the national media to improve rights for the vulnerable and step-up Government support for those living with Dementia.
“Birchall Blackburn Law is committed to growing its teams with experts who fully understand the needs of people and we are really pleased to have Eve on board.”
Eve is a member of the Law Society’s Private Client Section and is a student member of the Society of Estates and Trusts.
Birchall Blackburn Law holds the prestigious Law Society’s quality mark in Wills and Inheritance demonstrating its commitment to client care and expertise in Wills and inheritance law.
