Staff at Birchall Blackburn’s Morecambe Office got well and truly into the festive spirit by donning fancy dress and singing carols for charity in the town’s Arndale Centre.
Christmas shoppers were entertained by enthusiastic and (almost) note perfect renditions of favourites such as ‘While Shepherds Watched’, ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ together with a sprinkling of more contemporary Christmas classics.
The hour long show in Christmas week raised £168 from generous passers-by, a figure that has been matched by Birchall Blackburn.
All proceeds are being donated to the Bay Search and Rescue Service, a team of unpaid volunteers who provide essential support to H.M. Coastguard, Mountain Rescue Teams and other emergency services on and around Morecambe Bay. The team operates two all-terrain, amphibious tracked personnel carriers, ideal for working on the treacherous sands of the bay.
